Online facilitation

Hello all,

I’m currently in a webinar being moderated by Brad Beach from Central Gippsland TAFE on online facilitation skills.

The ‘Gippsland Model’ is based on the Face-to-Face (F2F) teaching model – very structured – around a 5-day lesson model – including introduction of resources with set discussion topics for the content – facilitated asynchronously – with a synchronous session later in the week – assessment items – online courses are funded under the standard staffing funding model – same class sizes – same hours.

Requires up  front funding for development, but Gipps TAFE now make $7mill a year form online courses.

Here are a couple of screen grabs of key points brad made  (I’ll see if I can get a link to the presentation when it becomes available):

And here’s a link to a flexiblelearning.net.au  resources on online facilitation.
